# Getting Started Using EMAC Customer Access Portal (CAP) for Collaboration

When you first loged into the CAP Portal you were directed to the Welcome page. This page has the latest news and a list of the latest Projects that you have access to. If there are more than one Project listed please select the Project of interest.

Once selected this will take you to the Overview page for the Project. You can also get to this page by selecting the Overview button on the Side Bar. The Overview page provides you with a snapshot of the Project. Listed on this page is the Project Description which also contains links to this Getting Started page and also Instructions for adding Issues and Scope Changes. In addition, the Latest News is available along with a list of Documents, Project Members and Work Package (Milestone) Tracking.

From the Side Bar are access to a number of other (CAP) Portal Functions. These Functions are as Follows:

  - **Activity** - List anything that has happened with regard to Customer Notifications within the Project

  - **Roadmap** - Provides total progress and Status of the Project

  - **Work Packages** - Work Packages are another name for Milestones. Pressing this button will take you to the Milestones used to define and track the Project.

  - **Timelines** - Timelines will display a Gantt Chart which includes the Milestones and their dates.

  - **Calendar** - Calendar provides you with a Calendar view that includes the Milestone dates.

  - **News** - Here you can read Project News Posts by EMAC

  - **Forums** - Forums are where you can communicate with the EMAC Project Engineers about the Project. There are 4 Forum Boards defined:

      - **Project General Forum** - This is where can post any general information or questions relating to the project.

      - **Project Client Approvals** - This is where you Post Project Milestone Approvals such as Schematic, PCB Artwork, 1st Article, etc.). For More information see [[Instructions for adding Issues and Scope Changes]]

      - **Project Issues** - Here is where you list any issues with regard to the project that need to be addressed

      - **Project Scope Changes** - The Project Proposal defines the Scope of the Project. If new features or other changes are required they are requested in this Forum. The EMAC Project Engineer with then respond with the Project Impact of adding the features or changes. You then will be required to Accept or Reject the Scope Change.       - **Product/Project Notifications** - This is where EMAC will post notifications such Project Start Date Defined, End-Of-Life (EOL), Product Change Notification (PCN), etc.

      - **Project Deliverables** - A Zip file will be uploaded upon the Completion & Payment of the Project with Project Deliverables as define in the Project Proposal

  - **Status Reportings** - This provides the Current Project Status (ie. New, Off-Hold, On-Hold or Cancelled). Normally the Project should have a Off-Hold Status.

  - **Documents** - Here is where Collaborative Documents are stored such as the Project Proposal. Documents can only be uploaded by EMAC. There are 5 Document Categories and they are:

      - **Reference Materials** - Docs such as data sheets, Project Specification, Project Proposal, etc.

      - **Billing** - This is where copies of Invoices and Purchase Orders would be posted

      - **Manuals** - This is where any Project Related Manuals would be stored

      - **Forms/Templates** - This is where any Project Related Forms/Templates would be stored
